Mailing List "Archaeology"

Mailing list "Archaeology": this list is for (but not limited to) archaeologists who have an interest in archaeological computing, archaeoinformatics, quantitative methods and other similar topics. We focus on the discussion about the stardards for archaeological record and documentation, too. We are discussing also about free/open source software, open formats and standards, open access to scientific literature.

Linux day 2005

On 26 November 2005, organized by the Italian Linux Society, there will be the fifth italian Linux day. Promoted by the Linux Users Groups it will treat topics related to Opensource and Free Software. In Siena the event will be organized by SLUG (Siena Linux Users Group) and in Grosseto by GroLUG (Grosseto Linux Users Group).

Carocci editore has published a new book (in italian): Informatica applicata all'archeologia by Ada Gabucci. This book is written, in particular, for every archaeologist that is convinced that computer "must" be used, ignoring the real utility of it.
